White Mountain Ski House

Sugar Hill, NH

This early project combined many features derived from different cultures and world travel. The open stone fireplace, inspired by a firepit within a Zimbabwe hunting lodge, was adapted to New England through the use of materials and design. The open balcony encircling the living room was adapted from a Canadian fishing lodge while the concept for the balcony off the master bedroom derived from an Alta ski house in Utah.

The open plan of the ground floor is designed to engage everyone within the common areas. Whether one is cooking or washing dishes, they remain integrally connected with those in the living and dining spaces.
